Musing with Myra . Installment #3 . Celebrating National Poetry Month.

Ta da. Installment #3 of Musing with Myra was a smashing success.
Thank you, one and all for showing up and participating in this collaborative effort.
The Arts are my passion and promoting and connecting the Artists, Photographers, Designers, Writers, Performers and all the people that are making it happen every day, is my objective.

The evening went smoothly with everyone having an opportunity to introduce themselves and
sharing poetry.

One of the many highlights of the evening was, Artist Leon Rosenblatt, dramatically leading everyone in singing his rendition of "Let My People Go".

The turn out was tremendous...40 in total.
All agreed, it was a memorable evening.

Looking forward to Installment #4 in May.

Mark your calendars now, People. The 3rd Wednesday in May will be the last Installment of
Musing with Myra until the Fall.

Take advantage of this opportunity to be visible and connect in this exciting Arts Community.

Each one of us can, and do, make a difference.
Be kind to others today.
Do the next right thing.
It's an inside job.
We are all messengers.
Let your love light shine.

"Obey Yo Momma"!

Pass it forward.

Peace and love.

Third Wednesday of the Month...Must be Musing with Myra

Yep.
Musing with Myra, Installment #3, is scheduled for this evening @Wynwood Kitchen & Bar.
Yahoo!

Looking forward to a smashing success.

Is this wishful thinking?
I think not.

Becoming a seasoned player, as each month has passed into an other, I feel confident that when
it's all said and done, tonight will be a win win situation.

My love of people and The Arts comes together once a month, for this, my monthly Arts
Networking Event.

We'll be launching a live broadcast stream, via the internet.
In honor of National Poetry Month, I've asked everyone to bring a poem to share.

Looking forward to hearing what people have to say.

Shout out to The Miami Hearld for listing my event on page #8A in this morning's paper.

Had a memory making 2nd Sedar last night, up in Boca Raton with my Mother.
We were a table of 14. The delicious food was never ending and the reading of the Haggadah,
was particularly meaningful.

As I begin this day, I give thanks to the powers that be for all that is possible.

I shall hit the ground running.

No regrets.
No looking back.

Onward and upward.

Ascending The Arts.

And so it is this lovely morning.

Peace and love.

Tuesday . Count Down for Musing with Myra . 4/19/11

Good Morning World.

Putting out a call for help with coordinating a hopefully, smooth evening of Musing with Myra,
tomorrow from 6-9PM @Wynwood Kitchen & Bar.

I'm in need of a volunteer to greet people as they come in and man the "sign-in" table, making sure everyone signs the guest book and fills out a name tag.

I just posted this request on my Facebook Wall, hoping I'll get a volunteer.

Thanking anyone in advance for their willingness to pitch in.

This morning I will hit the ground running.

9AM appointment here in Hollywood, then on to meet up with the one and only
Kerry McLaney of Miami's Independent Thinkers who is the mastermind behind the concept
we hope to launch tomorrow night. A live broadcast stream, via my laptop for this 3rd Installment of Musing with Myra.

By 5PM, I plan on being in Boca Raton with my Mother for the 2nd night of Passover Sedar
at a friends home.

Whew, I'm exhausted just thinking about the challenges this day holds for me.

I am thinking too, how grateful I am to have this Blog and Facebook available as a way of reaching out to my awesome group of friends.

I am learning to ask for help. People are not mind readers. I feel secure in knowing that somehow the great Universe shall provide all that is needed.

With this in mind, I send out loving thoughts to each and everyone of you.
May your day unfold, opening windows you had no idea existed before.
This is what gives me the strength and courage to get dressed in morning and put myself
out there people.
If it works for me, it'll work for you.

Now put one foot in front of the other and get on with it.

Life is short.
This too shall pass.
Seize the moment.

Remember The Golden Rule,
"do unto others, as you would have them, do unto you".
Treat people, as you would like to be treated.

Make a difference today.

Thanks for staying tuned.

Good Morning Monday .

Tonight is the beginning of Passover.

This holiday celebrates the liberation of the
Jewish People and their freedom from slavery.
Moses said to Pharaoh, "Let my people go".

To all of you who are celebrating this Holiday,
"Hag Samaech".

Last night I was celebrating my Mother's
91st Birthday @Joe's Stone Crab's on So. Beach.

Joe's is a So. Fla. institution and is world class
in every way

We met up with old friends of my deceased, younger brother,
Jerry...Harry and his significant other, Gail a/k/a Mel.

From the stone crabs to the hash browns and cream spinach,
finishing up with the award winning key lime pie, it was divine.

I am blessed to have my Mother in my life and need to
remind myself of this every now and then.

I am grateful for another shared, sweet memory.

Looking forward to my monthly Arts Networking Event,
taking place this coming Wednesday at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar.

I have my work cut out for the rest of the week as well.

Keeping good thoughts, I wish you all a week filled with
new discoveries and much accomplishments.

Remember as you embark upon this new day,
that we are all spiritual people, having a
human experience.

With this thought in mind,
let your spirit soar.

Life is short.
Living it well,
is the best
revenge.

Peace and love.

Sunday . 4/17/11

And so it goes...
Another day, behind me.

9AM @Nissan Dealership
to pick up my new vehicle.

12:15 on my way
to visit with old friend @ his
beautiful house in South Miami.

Gotta love being greeted by
two beautiful, Golden Retrievers,
Savanah and TiBo.
Loving Pisces, the goldfish,
who now joins the mix.

We toured the grounds, admiring
all the award winning specimens of
bromeliad's, palms and who knows
what else.

One perfect gardenia was given to
me.

Be still my heart.

My favorite flower and scent.

By 7:30 PM I was @Ladder Gallery
downstairs from my Studio for the
2nd in a series of 8 Guild Shows
that opened last night.

T. Eliott Mansa was the featured
Artist.

The Guild is a group of eight artists,
curated by Ricardo Pau Llosa.
Sinuhe Vega, Ladder Gallery Owner/Director
and Ricardo are collaborating
in bringing this Guild Series of Artists
together through an
ongoing group of Gallery Shows and
Literary Events.

Saturday, April 23rd, 7 PM, is the next
Literary Event, featuring a reading and
book signing with the very gifted and talented
Author, Poet, Actor, Summer Hill Seven, who's
new book has just been published.

By 9PM I was @Evo Love and Romaine Gateau's
home for a Dinner Party they were hosting.
We were 10, all together for an evening filled
with the food, friends and laughter.

Just after midnight, I arrived safely home.

And here it is Sunday morning already.
Where does the time go???

9AM my indulgent, holistic massage.

5PM @Joe's Stone Crabs with friends
to celebrate my Mother's 91st Birthday.

What's on your agenda today?

Whatever it is, remember to practice
random kindness.

Don't judge your insides, by other
people's outsides.

Keep good thoughts.

All things are possible.

So it's Saturday...

Love, love, love, how yesterday played out.

Leaving my building yesterday morning,
I was handed a package
that had just arrived @the desk.

How surprised and delighted to find
"Obey Yo Momma"stickers inside.
Yes.Yes.Yes.

Gifted to me, by Jacksonville Artist, Steve Williams.
His significant other, Patrick Golden, is the creative force behind this
original design.

Thank you Gentlemen for rocking my World : )

The work now begins.
Getting them out, up and posted.

Anyone interested in joining the sticker brigade,
please contact me.
I'll be happy to send them out.
All I ask in return, is a photo of where they
were posted.

With stickers in hand, I knocked out each item
on my to do list, before arriving
@the home of Michael Enns in Coral Gables.

It was in this unique, historical cottage and it's gardens,
that we hosted a Garden Soiree with
friends, Artist Evo Love, Photographer Amanda Hudson,
Tia Chi Master/Healer Stephanie Rosenblatt
visiting NYC photographer, Brett Lindell, Michael and
myself.

Arriving with the fixings for a beautiful spread, I proceeded
to the kitchen to put it all together.

Such a perfect So. Fla. day.

I regret that I failed to photograph the food presentation.
Suffice to say, it was lovely.

We were relaxed and eager to explore Michael's home,
filled with Art and Collections of a lifetime.

The grounds on his property are something to behold.
From the ancient palms to the blooming orchids.
We delighted in some enchanting ornament or other,
hidden in plain sight, so to speak.

The afternoon flew by quickly.
Ending, with a visit to
the one and only, Venetian Pool.

This is a stunning example of Historical Coral Gables
at it's finest. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places,
the Venetian Pool is a beautiful, 820,000 gallon pool that was
carved out of a coral rock quarry in 1923.
Nestled within a residential area of Coral Gables and surrounded
by Venetian-style architecture, the Venetian Pool is fed daily with
crystal clear spring water and features abundant waterfalls, grottos,
caves and a diving platform.

I actually have home movies from my childhood, filmed @the
Venetian Pool with my family...

Tripping down memory lane, I am reminded too, that in life,
we are all sum totals of our memories.

I think too, this is what is driving my passion, these days with
The Arts...
Promoting the Arts and the Renaissance that is taking place
in Miami today, is predicated on my memories of having grown
up here.

Coral Gables is my hometown.
It is from this perspective, that I marvel at all that Miami
was and is becoming again, only this time on a much more
International level.

Today holds much promise.

Thanks for staying tuned.

More to come.

Peace and love.

Finally Friday . 4/15/11

So here it is Friday, April 15th, finally...
Not you're typical April 15rh either.
The citizens of the great United States
of America have been granted an unusual
extension for filing their Income Tax Return...
3 more days, People, due to a holiday.
Gotta love that, right?

Fortunately, I filled a few weeks ago, so
the pressure is off...

Met up with Melanie Cohen founder of
SocialMiami.com @ my Studio yesterday.
We went on to Michael's Genuine in the
Design District for a most perfect and
delicious lunch.

Not only is Michael's the bench mark for
all things great in the food world, you gotta
love going to a restaurant where the entire
staff goes out of it's way in making you feel
so welcomed and appreciated.

We had perfectly prepared Cohiba with
aoili, atop sauteed kale with the most
amazing crunch from being fired up in
the uber hot, wood burning oven.

Followed by Pastry Chef extraordinaire,
Hedy Goldsmith's frozen Greek yogurt
with fresh sliced strawberries and drizzled
with balsamic glaze. Unlike anything I've
ever tasted. Accompanied by the most
exquisite Madelines ever.

The Design District is buzzing with the
news of the Louis Vuitton Boutique, leaving
Bal Harbour Shops and opening there.
It is my understanding this is just the tip
of the iceberg, People...

More surprising and exciting Retail establishments
to follow in the near future. Take my word for this.

I predict that the Design District is about to become
the uber center of all things chic and artistic in the
entire World as we know it today : )

Back @my Studio, I spent the afternoon doing Art.
Yahoo...So long overdue.

By 6:15PM, accompanied by my friend Artist, Michael Enns,
we were on So. Beach @The Wolfsonian for a opening on
Poster Art. We sat thru the lecture before perusing the
Gallery.

Stunning show. Hope you all are able to check it out.

Home and in bed by 10PM.

All things considered this was an easy day for me...

On tap for today a Tea Party, Garden Style in Coral Gables,
at Michael Enn's home.
Artist Evo Love, Evo's friend, a Street Artist visiting from NYC,
Photographer Amanda Hudson
and Tai Chi Master/Healer, Stephanie Rosenblatt among the
expected attendees.

Depending on how I survive the day, will determine my
plans, if any for this evening.

Off to Gino's Italian Grocery this morning to buy fixings
and to Mimi's Ravioli for their magnificent cibata bread
and muffins.

I know I'm in for a beautiful, memorable afternoon in
the making.

Sending out wishes for all things good and great for
each one of us today.
May the Universe shine it's magnificence on us all,
as we make our way out into the World.

Keep a positive attitude and remember to pass it forward.

Monkey see.
Monkey do.

Peace and love : )
